How fabulous was this weekend?
Let me tell you. It was just grand.
La Corn Chip came to visit this weekend; his sister was graduating high school. We made plans to go out and paint the town the color of our choosing on Saturday.
See, when CC and I go out, we always do the same thing. It's always drinks at the Door and then keep the buzz going at Velveeta. So, around 11 I meet him at the Door and proceed to have two of the strongest rum and cokes ever made. Quite nice, I was buzzing when we left the Door to go to the Velvet Room. I had a couple beers there, and Krysdol and Blythe (she needs a nickname! help!) show up. I got another beer for Blythe and Krysdol bought us a shot of beetlejuice. At some point I had a shot of rumplemintze which caused the long descent into drunken excess.
I ended up flirting with Matt the former bass player from Blue October's twin brother...and some other random people. I don't recall dancing at all that night, but Krysdol says we did. Shit if I know. La Corn Chip says Krysdol and I were a trip. I ended up at my house at about 2:30 in the morning drunk off my ass. Seriously, I found a shoe in my bedroom and the other was in the kitchen. My shirt was on the floor in my bedroom but my pants were in the living room. I still haven't found my socks.
Well, I was hammered and noticed that I had several cheery messages from my boy Wonderbread. So of course, being drunk, I think that its a grand idea to call and say "what's up." Yeah, well, he got a kick out of me slurring my words and pouring my heart out (it was full of rum, dont'cha know) all the while sniffling badly enough to make him think I was bawling. I so was not. That much I can remember.
Anyway, the next day I woke up with a WICKED hangover. But I got to play with my new toy: a Swiffer Wetjet! Actually I went to Target on Saturday and bought it...and mopped the floors in my apartment with them. But I did it again on Sunday because Swiffer Rocks! Everyone needs to go out and get one! You dont' have to worry about dirty water, and plus, the Swiffer pads look like gigantic feminine napkins! That's comedy gold right there, baby.
So what did I do this weekend? I mopped my floors with huge maxi-pads and got hammered out of my mind. All in all, a very good weekend.
They Put Me In The Mix!

No one remembers that f'n MC Hammer song but me...or so I thought!
check this out: Via princessmelissa.com
TV Show You Must Catch: Late at night, I read ?MC Hammer? on the channel guide. I flipped it to that channel, and the actual name of the show was Hammer & Friend?s. Yes, friends with an apostrophe S. I thought I?d die, but I watched it anyway because he is after all Hammer. Hammer, Hammer, I am Hammer. They put me in the mix.
I am vindicated. Someone else remembers that damn MC Hammer song. I wasn't just making it up! Praise Cheesus. I feel better now.
Momma needs some lovin'! Momma needs some lovin'!

hehehehehehe, sorry Rollermog reminded me of what The Beast said at his birthday party and I haven't been able to get it out of my head since.
Anyway, last night Rollermog and I went out to the Country Luau (side note: dude, EVERYWHERE has a website these days...) for drinks and possible debauchery. Many drinks were had; I was buzzing and Rollermog was still drinking. I even saw the former student government president smoking and drinking. Mhmm, thass right. She ain't gonna run for public office now. We also saw an obvious gay couple there too. It was so funny cuz the one guy was all gregarious with everyone, and his bitch was just hanging out behind him following like a silly little puppy. It was cute almost. Almost.
Anyway, we went to Rollermog's house and drank more beer. It was fabulous. We were giggly and stupid, and I confessed scandal to Rollermog which he immediately chided me for (for not telling him sooner) and also praising me on the nature of the scandal. So go me.
After I got home last night I was starved. I raided the pizza rolls and ate what must have been like 30 of the suckers. Well, ok, maybe 10. The worst part was how insanely hungry I still was. So I had some of those awesome Delimex microwave taquitos. With sour cream. F'n awesome!
After all that drinking and hard core snack food fix, I think it's safe to assume that I slept rather well last night. Damn skippy I did.
We're going out this weekend too. So times should be fun. Whee! Right-o. I'm gonna go now. I need to find lunch, I'm starved.
Still pissed the F* off

You know, It happened last week and I'm still a little skeeved about it. Mainly because I lost all you people's comments. I mean, I finally got you guys to say things! And then my hosting company goes and F*s everything up. Oh well, I guess.
Other than that things are going well. I saw Wonderbread this weekend which was way fun. I thought I'd do a big post about it all but then I figured I'd keep it to myself, because after all that'll just make you guys wonder what the frick happened. Hah! So there!
I have lots of little jobs to do at work, so that keeps me busy. It's fun. At some point this summer I'm going to have to buckle down and redesign the university's website. Slowly but surely, I'm broaching the idea of finally getting the pictures I need to do it though. I'm totally into these mug shot type deals. Actually, it's like 3/4 of their body and clipping them out, then faking a background and putting it up as the mast head for the frontpage. It's going to be way cool-o. Trust.
Hopefully today, I'll get a chance to post some stuff that Gidget sent me so you guys can listen; it's friggen hilarious. Hmm...I think that's it for right now. I have to get on this one page for a higher ed mag.
Oy Vey!

Hollywood *IS* out of ideas:
Transformers 'rolling-out' in live-action film
How in the hell are you going to make live-action Autobots? Does that strike anyone else as slightly hard? Or CGI gone horribly awry?? Dear God. Just stop. Just stop right now and just get on the friggen' Astrotrain outta town.
the Friday Five

1. What's one thing you've always wanted to do, but never have?
Duh. Have sex. I'm a virgin : )
2. When someone asks your opinion about a new haircut/outfit/etc, are you always honest?
Yes. Brutally so. Ask Rollermog about the first time he went all Slim Shady on us. Or the time Wonderbread wore that sleeveless, spandex shirt with the zippers. ZIPPERS. Yes. Zippers.
3. Have you ever found out something about a friend and then wished you hadn't? What happened?
Hell no. I love scandal from my friends. And child, I have learned some crazy-ass stuff about some of the people I know. Orgies, bisexual siblings, murders (oK, no murders...really!), anonymous sex, stalking and other assorted naughtiness.
4. If you could live in any fictional world (from a book/movie/game/etc.) which would it be and why?
Duh. The galaxy far, far, away. Why? The Force. And lightsabers. I'd so be a Force user of the naughty side of the Force. It's not the dark side, and it's not the light side. It's the naughty side. You know, the use of the Force that makes people do silly things, or fall over, or forget...but never to do any REAL harm. That's the dark side. We're only the naughty side. And come on, don't you really want to have a lightsaber? Those things are unstoppable. Plus, it can slice through blast doors on a starship and still cut a paper-thin slice off a tomato. Beat that Ginzu Knife!
5. What's one talent/skill you don't have but always wanted?
It's either multiple double-jointedness or lack of a gag reflex. You guess as to why.
Hooray for the Friday Five. Saves me from thinking of something to actually post. And yes, ZIPPERS. *sighs* ; )
The attitude begins...

It looks like it's going to be a long day here at work. Everyone seems really frustrated about SOMETHING.
Not me, man. I'm happy-jolly today for some odd reason.
Oh well, I think I can handle it today.
Oh, and get this: do you think I spend too much time on the internet? I mean, seriously, today my big question was what browser I was going to use to do my browsing with.
(we're using Netscape 7 today). Crazy stuff, right?
More randomness: I just crawled over my desk to find an ethernet cable. See what I have to put up with every day?
A turning point in Human History
17 June, 2003 at 08:18 AM by Ren | Permalink
Last night, I actually cooked dinner for another human being. Yes. I did. It's amazing. I made dinner for Rollermog and myself. It was fabulous. Very tasty if I do say so myself. And I do. Because I still think deep down inside that Rollermog was just humoring me. It's good practice though, because you know, as my grandmother says, now that I can cook, I can get married.
Not that I'm planning on doing that ANYTIME soon. Oh lord, you'd think an old fogie like me would not get so flipped out when someone says "ren when are you getting married?" but it really does.
Anyway, I digress. Yesterday Rollermog came home with me so he could get his iPod replaced. Best Buy bought his story and replaced it for him...with a NEWER model! Go Rollermog! After that we went to the Verizon store so he could get accessories for his new cellphone. After all, accessorizing is what seperates us from the animals. Then we went back to my apartment and I made dinner and we watched Futurama and Family guy on Adult Swim.
Finally we did some laundry, and watched Ocean's Eleven. Good movie. Good times. After that, I collapsed from exhaustion and Rollermog went and downloaded rings for his cellphone. He's going for the kitsch factor in his ring tones. Child already has the freaking Facts of Life theme. I think that sums it up in what kind of ring tone scheme he's going for.
Today I'm stuck in this ungodly assault of meetings all day. They start in something like 45 minutes and don't let up until nearly 5 p.m. It's hideous. I'm totally not happy.
Curse you, meetings. Curse you.
Wow
20 June, 2003 at 07:27 AM by Ren | Permalink
So the better part of this week has been spent in meetings. All day meetings. It sucks, let me tell you.
The University is implementing a new student information system. Myself and Sherry are on the communications subcommittee. Most of the stuff they talked about for the 3 days worth of meetings was nothing that we had anything to do with. We just had to sit there and smile and pretend we knew what the frick a PDD was.
Well, now it's over. I'm exhausted. I get home the last few days and just pass out. I even missed Wonderbread's phone calls for two days in a row. And the F*cker called me an old man. You try being in meetings for days at a time. It blows puckey. Trust.
Really, that's all that's going on; today is consumed with me playing catch-up for being in meetings for days. I'm getting there fast, thanks to the fact that I spent some time every day at home working. whee!
I love my job. Yes I do. Also, I'd do the friday five, but I don't feel like talking about my hair. My hair is wavy, short, dark brown and crappy. : ) that's all you need to know.
Oops! (I did it again)

Hi. My Name is Ren and I killed my website yesterday. Like a total moron, I killed Movable Type (the software the powers my website) in a freak updating accident. Instead of making it better, I went on further destroying it by making a series of increasingly bad decisions.
The end result is a website that is un-updatable.
Hoping that my hosting company would be helpful, I emailed support and asked them to do a restore backup, to save me the trouble of having to rebuild Movable Type and all the blogs. Unfortunately, they told me that it would cost me $50 for them to pull out a disk, and restore my website.
I have since decided that this is an unacceptable charge; I have further decided that my service with my current host has come to an end. In the past month they have let my site go down not once, but twice for a period of longer than twenty-four (24) hours. One of the times it went down they restored from a backup that was over fourteen (14) days old.
As Road Rules Theo would say, "this is ridonkulous."
So, I made the decision. I'm moving my website to someone cheaper, and more responsive to my needs. I'll keep you updated on what's going on.
Oh yeah, and when I'm moved over, I'll let you know all about my evil web hosts. : )
¡Oops! ¡Lo hice otra vez!

Dude. How much do I rock?
I'll tell you how much.
I went searching through old CDs I had burned here at home and I discovered that I had a backup copy of my last good Movable Type install here. Woohoo!
I was able to totally rebuild my website. RAWK!
Welcome back, Tastawerk! Welcome back, indeed.
I'm still moving though. Screw this. : ) I'll keep you posted!

I know I'm a huge Star Wars nerd, but f*ck it. Today I read the BEST. Fan script. Ever. I found it on theforce.net (your daily dose of Star Wars, y'all) and I read it from cover to cover as it were and didn't stand up. Well actually, I couldn't. It was that good.
eh.

The Supreme Court Strikes down Same-sex sodomy law.
I think we should all go out and enjoy some same-sex sex this weekend. It's not illegal anymore, right? Unless that sort of thing isn't your bag, in which case, just fantasize about it or download some porn or something. Fuck. I don't care. Just don't have sex with animals. That shit's gross. Perverts.
