I don't blog on MySpace.

Their little blog thing sucks balls. So Oracle, you have to settle for this one.

Unfortunately Bulletins Have Spilled Over into Blogs.

Rules: Once you have been tagged, you have to write a blog with six weird facts/things/habits about yourself. In the end, you need to choose six people to be tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave a comment that says "You've been tagged!" in their comments and tell them to read yours

  1. When I wash my hair in the morning, I rinse my hands of the lather before I rinse the lather out of my hair.
  2. If you try and force me to do something, it makes me resist even more.
  3. I have year dates on almost all my music in iTunes; It lets me organize smart playlists by date. Because I'm OCD like that
  4. My nose stuffs up really bad around 3 a.m. -- doesn't matter if I'm awake or asleep.
  5. The first time I got a real buzz from alcohol was right before Operation Graduation--a lock-in for high school graduates ostensibly to prevent them from getting drunk (Thanks Shan Dar!)
  6. I've never been to Florida. So, um, Oracle? We're totally going to Walt DisneyWorld.

I tag Krysdol, Shandar, Freaky, SargieGirl, The Beast, and LinaMariePresley (she's my pee buddy, after all).

I'm so easily entertained

From a phone conversation about 20 minutes ago:

Krysdol: Hey, do you want to go to the movies with me, Batman and the Oracle?
Ren: I dunno, what are you going to go see?
Krysdol: Lucky Number Slevin
Ren: Never heard of it, who's in that?
Krysdol: It's got Josh Hartnett, Bruce Willis and Ben Kingsley. It's supposed to be really good.
Ren: Heh. I know why you want to go see it.
Krysdol: Uh. Yeah. Josh Hartnett spends half the movie in just a towel.
Ren: What time did you say it started?

The things I'd pay money for

So, if you read my last post, you'd know that Batman, The Oracle, Krysdol and I went to the movies tonight. To see someone in a towel on a multi-story screen. Wait, let me clarify that: that's why three of us went; one of us went to see people play with guns and things possibly exploding.

Besides the obvious eye candy, the movie--Lucky Number Slevin--is remarkably good. Especially considering that I knew absolutely nothing about it and Krysdol picked it out (I'm sorry dude, but you totally watched this several times--doesn't always bode well for your viewing selections); I mean, I was sold on a character spending a good amount of time in a towel and Lucy Liu's in this one too and she plays neither a competent lawyer, erotic assasin or an icy dominatrix (yes, Oracle, I finally remembered the other one). In this one, she plays way out of type; she's a competent coroner!

Anyway, the plot basically involves Matt Sullivan in a case of mistaken identity by Hoke and Ghandi, who are all being manipulated by Korben Dallas. I'll leave it at that so I don't ruin plot for any of you kids out there who haven't seen it.

Well, one last thing--and this is important for the rest of this story--Josh Hartnett (to all our delight) brandishes a gun and uses it with extreme prejudice.

On the way home, we stopped at a convenience store for some, uh, supplies for The Oracle when in the truck next to us I notice someone who looks remarkably like my Arch Nemesis. This sparked a discussion between Krysdol, Batman and I. The discussion follows:

Krysdol: Friend, you could always call Josh Hartnett to kill him.
Batman: Yeah. Pull out his guns and blast the motherf*cka!
Ren: Oh man, good idea! If I was paying Josh Hartnett to put a hit on...oh wait, I would pay him to do that to me!

Well, I would have him whack...oh wait. I'd pay him to do that to me too.

No, I got it: I would have him bust a...yeah, I'd pay to have him do that to me too.

OH! Yeah! I'd get him to pop a...no, I'd definitely pay for that!

Krysdol: Wow. It's funny how violence and sex are pretty close together, huh?
Ren:...Ok, how about having him knock...oh, no. I'd pay for that too.

And it went like that the rest of the way home. Funny how mobster euphemisms for murder also make good double entendres for sexual acts.

Something I meant to do a long while back

08 April, 2006 at 10:47 PM by Ren | Permalink

I meant to do this some time ago, but things got in the way, and I never actually got around to it.

Every month, I compile a playlist for that particular month to play on my iPod. I decided at the end of last year I was going to post each month's playlist on here, so y'all could see what I'm listening to.

This is the playlist for January, 2006.

  1. Hung Up (Radio Edit) - Madonna
  2. No Sleep Tonight - The Faders
  3. Jukebox - Bent Fabric
  4. You Owe Me One - ABBA

I have to look on the bright side

10 April, 2006 at 05:15 PM by Ren | Permalink

So another chapter has come to a close in my life. No, I don't mean that someone died, or I'm taking a new job.

What I mean to say is that I pulled up to my apartment this afternoon to see that my neighbor, The Exuberant Masturbator has moved out! Well, I'm not even real sure of that, but, it's a pretty done deal because the cleaning lady is in there cleaning stuff out. That's a pretty good sign you don't live there anymore.

I'm not sure how I feel about it...I mean, I'm kind of sad. But mostly I'm left with a sense of remorse because I'll never find out what you were doing over there to make your bed squeak like that.

So, goodbye Exuberant Masturbator--unless you read this blog by some random congruence of planetary bodies; in which case, please email me and tell me what you were up to. I'm curious as all hell.

When it's time to change...

same boring crap, fresh new taste!

So, I finally did it.

Here's a new version of the website for you to enjoy. I think this is version 12. I lost count a while back. There's no reason for the update, save for the fact that I was never really satisfied with the last iteration; the colors just weren't me. I was also really noticing that my little logo just didn't work for me anymore--so I updated it. Put my feet down, flipped it and reversed it, as it were. I put it into a sphere and in the process managed to emphasize the 'R' that is hidden in there, and even make an 'E' visible in there too, if ya pay attention. Go me.

I also added a little feature to add a picture like the one above me right now, should I choose to mix it up a bit. For this first post, I sure the hell did. Funky style.

Anyway, there's bound to be errors; I haven't finished checking everything, and there's snippets of code to enter here and there. So don't complain. Just sing my praises. I mean, I managed to upload this site by only overwriting one style sheet. Friggen' awesome if you ask me. I mean, there's a couple tweaks here and there to fix, but for the most part it's done.

I still have a couple other style sheets to modify and a couple snippets of code to add into the entries further in, but that can wait for a bit; i'm leaving for Easter tomorrow and my internet is spotty there since my parents aren't technologically advanced enough to offer wireless capabilities.

Enjoy. Or don't. I don't really care. Whatever.

RAMalicious

I used a portion of my tax refund recently to purchase some RAM for Hayden, my beloved PowerBook. In fact, I got such a good deal, I was able to max out the RAM on him. 2G in fact.

It is teh hawtness.

I've been playing SimCity 4: Rush Hour! incessantly. I can't help myself. I must continue to grow my city.

Plus, it's fun with the Rush Hour add ons to drive around in my city. Hee!
