Be Somebody.

In late 2002, Texas A&M-Kingsville began a slow transition from their marketing campaign of the previous two years to a new campaign. In addition to a new tagline ("Be Somebody."), a new 'marketing icon' was introduced featuring an updated, streamlined javelina head.
Beginning in 2003, I was charged with creating new advertisements to reflect the new campaign. I've since created multiple ads featuring a number of current students and alumni, each matching the 'Be Somebody.' campaign Other ads were created that matched the campaign. You may check out the PDF samples below.
- Be Somebody - Future Philanthropist
This ad originally ran in a publication honoring local philanthropists, hence "future philanthropist" - Be Somebody - National Champion
This ad appeared in a special homecoming tabloid insert in the Kingsville Record. Variations have appeared in various local sports publications with the "National Champion" replaced with "Fighting Javelina." - Be Somebody - Future Band Director
One of the many outstanding programs at A&M-Kingsville are the music programs. This ad ran in several local newspapers, including the drum major's hometown. - Be Somebody - Web Designer
The model used for this ad was my former student employee; he now works doing freelance web design in San Antonio. This ad originally ran as "Future Web Designer" but upon the model's graduation, the copy changed to reflect that. Variations have appeared in several local and regional newspapers.
In early 2004, this campaign was awarded a silver medal in the Admissions Marketing Report Advertising Awards.
