Xtina in the Hizzouse

I was sitting in my living room this morning, fresh out of bed (if by fresh you mean groggy as a muthafugga). I dropped in my Christina Aguilera "Stripped" CD and let myself finally get a chance to listen to her alone on my stereo, without distractions, without anyone. I was so happy. It's rare nowadays to get a moment's happiness, a single span of time that makes you forget where you are, where you're going, and who's in your way, and what's getting to you. I've waited a long time for Christina's CD to come out, from its being pushed back countless times to being bombarded with to the Old West dominatrix she's become since Lady Marmalade. OK, I get it. She wears too much makeup and dresses like Twisted Sister. Last I checked it's a free country, and if she wants to look like a goof, let her! I've always been more interested in her voice, since she's got pipes that could blow roofs off. I almost hated her first CD; if it weren't for "Come On Over" and a choice few others, I would've ditched her.

I loved "Lady Marmalade" too. Christina stole that stage, with her voice, of course, not that god-awful Dee Snyder outfit. Why can't more young female celebrities come on awards shows and TV wearing classic gowns, perfect makeup (meaning not painted on like spackle), and gorgeous hair done up or down and exude class? Am I old-fashioned? Or do more people not want to see undercleavage and fried hair?

Shit, I'm digressing mad crazy. At any rate, Christina's latest album is a must have. She as blown away my current diva Anastacia with her soaring voice, and is outplaying Kylie on my CD player. I told my friends that Christina had to make me orgasm on her new CD or Anastacia's got my crown. Man did she ever. Superlatives aside (I'm sorry, I can't help myself), each of the 16 songs has something to say. It's so hard to put into words what this CD means to me. It's already, for the two weeks I've had it, helped me get through rough spots, because when I listen to it, she listens to me. Then she sings the shit out of it.

I've got more to say about her, but I gotta pace myself, cuz I forget easily and things come out so fucked up sometimes.
